As I write to you this week, I am coming off of a very interesting week. It was a very productive week for me. However, it was also a very challenging week for me. I was going to write a final farewell message to you this week. It was as if the spiritual battle really intensified in my life this week. I had already started framing what I would say to you in my final post. It was a week where I really had to focus spiritually because the battle raging was intense. Thankfully, I was able to find my center and refocus. Focus is a very powerful discipline that you must develop if you are to fulfill your destiny. I hope that you are being productive, focusing on your goals and achieving big results. Remember that success does not favor the dreamer but the doer.
What is in a moment? Can you discern the power of a moment? When was the last time you had a life-changing moment? This week I found myself frustrated and internally conflicted in a way that is almost difficult to articulate. I had already made a decision that I was going to write a final farewell message to you this week and that I was done. I was done with the blog, done with empowerment and done with JSI. The spiritual warfare that I experienced this week was extreme and I could not understand what was going on. Instead of giving in to how I was feeling, I made a conscious decision to empower my spirit. I knew that if I focused on nourishing my spirit I would find the answers I needed and experience breakthrough. Your emotions always want to sabotage the eternal in your life. You have to make sure that your feelings do not become an enemy of your future. A moment can be filled with joy, pain, adversity, growth, maturity and much more. Essentially, moments can enslave you or empower you. It is important to understand that only you have the power to decide what will rule the moments of your life. Ultimately, I made a decision to choose joy and it shifted the entire atmosphere of my life and the trajectory of my week. Every moment that you refuse to own becomes an opportunity for oppression and opposition to dominate your life.
I am so grateful that I have developed tools to help me in moments of turbulence. I cannot imagine navigating life without tools. However, I speak with people all the time that think they can transform their lives without tools. Many people read my content and they temporarily get inspired. On the other hand, other people consume my content and change the course of their destinies. What is the difference? Some people consider the content I share as just good information. Other people consider the content I share as valuable tools that hold the capacity to transform their lives. Information alone does not shift the trajectory of your life. However, tools will create tipping points in your life. One of the greatest tools I discovered years ago is the power of discerning moments. Every major victory and success in my life has been the result of discerning moments of opportunity. Discerning moments of opportunity will position you in the right place at the right time to walk through a door of favor. Much of what you are trying to make happen by your own effort will happen instantly when you discern a moment of opportunity. I knew something awesome was getting ready to happen because the adversity was so intense this week. I continued to stay postured and perceptive so I could take advantage of the moment. What you cannot discern you will always be distanced from. This is the year that you cannot afford to allow moments to slip away. Make a quality decision that every moment will be seized in 2018.
We all hope and pray for life-changing moments in our lives. However, not many people expect life-changing moments in their lives. This week I had the opportunity to speak with one of my mentors. It was not planned and it was not even scheduled. In fact, my mentor is really busy and I try not to reach out unless it is really important. God has a way of orchestrating things that are so beyond us. It just so happens that my mentor was available. From the moment the conversation started I felt myself being strengthened, encouraged and empowered. Immediately all the frustration and pressure left and I was renewed in my vision and purpose. It was an incredible moment and I felt a profound sense of gratitude. While my mentor said a number of things, hearing that my labor was not in vain and that the work I do is important is what resonated with me most. At times you can wonder if what you are doing is really making a difference. However, I walked away from that conversation with a certainty that I am in the center of God’s will for my life. It ignited me in a new way and let me know that I am making a great impact. Life changing moments happen when we are open to the possibilities of each moment in our lives. In a moment your life can shift from defeat to victory, hopelessness to hope and despair to destiny. I have discovered that life-changing moments start with a decision. You must make the decision that no condition in your life will contain you. Every moment you are choosing joy or sorrow. As good as I felt after that conversation, the goodness continued for me. Another mentor reached out to me and started speaking into my life. I was overwhelmed at the faithfulness and goodness of God. Joy filled my soul and peace ruled my heart. It was a life-changing moment for me and I was strengthened to fulfill prophetic destiny.
In closing, I hope you are living a life filled with life-changing moments. I believe one of the reasons I experienced breakthrough is because I was looking for it and expecting it. You cannot just settle for an ordinary life. You should be looking for opportunities and breakthroughs. You cannot be moved by what you see, feel or experience. You must be so rooted in a belief system that nothing has the power to break you. You may be under pressure but it should not rob you of the promise. We are living in extraordinary times. I sense so strongly that we are coming into a season of fulfillment. You are going to see what you have hoped, prayed and contended for. You will only conquer what you are willing to contend for. Over the years, I have discovered that it takes courage to contend. If you refuse to be moved you will reclaim the moments of your life. You are getting ready to experience favor like you have never seen before. Refuse to get out of position and do not allow anything to block your perception. Your promise is closer than you think. Get ready for a life-changing moment!
