Be a Game Changer

Well, we are officially wrapping up the month of January. I hope that January was a productive month and that you made lots of progress. Personally, I have been able to get a lot done over the last few weeks. In fact, I am already seeing incredible breakthroughs and results in the first few weeks of 2018. You can make all kinds of affirmations but that will not produce results in 2018. You must take action on your goals to experience success in 2018. Most people have given up their resolutions by now. Unfortunately, the sad reality is that most people will return to their normal routines and see no results in 2018. You have to get tired of being stuck and decide to make a big shift in your life this year. You still have eleven months to thrive!
Are you a game changer? How will you maintain your edge in 2018? What will cause you to be recognized and distinguished? I believe that what I am about to share with you is very important. Nowadays it seems like everyone is an expert. You can hardly get on social media without a new guru posting videos and attempting to sell you a product. While I am not against becoming an expert, I am baffled how so many experts have emerged so quickly. It has taken me years to build my brand and establish a strong reputation. Now I see people literally popping up overnight and making big claims about what they are achieving. The thing I want you to understand is that success is not automatic. Success takes a lifetime to achieve. Working systems and following formulas may yield short-term success. However, most of these individuals do not last long in business. They are thriving one day and the next day nobody remembers this. I do not want you to subscribe to this fly by night success model. Instead, I want you to develop the skills and capacity that will yield long-term results for you. In reality, you are not a game changer just because you say that you are a game changer. You must first establish a proven track record of integrity, consistency ,and results. To be a game changer you first have to create something valuable that meets a need and solves a problem. Duplicating what everyone else in the industry is doing is not success. To be a game changer requires that you model uncommon leadership and that you develop a revolutionary mindset.
To be a game changer you must have an edge. Lots of people are making all kinds of claims these days. However, when I ponder, probe and pontificate their work I cannot find an edge. All I can find are cheap copies of what others have already built. While I am not saying you cannot duplicate the success of others, I am saying that you have to bring something to the table. Too many people want a seat at the table but they have nothing to contribute at the table. You cannot make demands until you have established a reputation for excellence in the work that you do. Do not rush to call yourself an expert. Instead, I challenge you to remain consistent in your delivery and flexible in your approach. When you constantly deliver quality and provide exceptional service people will take notice of your work. This will give you an edge and it will also give you longevity. After all, you do not want to be labeled as a person that started well but could not finish well. To have an edge you must have uncommon disciplines. You must be willing to do what others will not do. Then you can live like few individuals ever will. Most people are too lazy to be legendary. Everybody wants to rise to the top but nobody wants to invest the time to be great. Your edge is the thing that keeps you fresh and at the forefront. Ultimately, your edge is the product of your ability to consistently execute and create excellence.
The ultimate goal is to be recognized and distinguished for your work. When I first started out many people laughed at me. They told me I would not succeed in business and that I did not bring anything valuable to the world. However, I did not allow those critics to stop me. I continued to learn, grow and develop on a daily basis. The goal was to be consistent and to always bring my best to everything that I did. Eventually, people stopped laughing and started paying attention to my work. Now I am a highly respected thought leader with a brand that continues to grow and empower people around the world. I have not arrived and I still have a lot of developing to do. However, I am now an award-winning entrepreneur and I have been featured on some of the largest media platforms in the world. Everyone associates me with empowerment and that was my goal when I started years ago. I did not start in business calling myself an expert. I did not make bogus claims or promise things that I could not deliver. No, I chose to consistently do good work and make sure that everything I did was memorable. I never wanted to be like anybody else. The work I do is valuable and unique. In fact, that is how you know you have found your authentic voice. You should bring to the world what no one else can bring to the world. If what you do is not unique then you will soon become unnecessary.
In closing, I want you to be a game changer in everything that you do. Do not just talk about doing great things. Make a decision that you are going to manifest greatness. Challenge yourself and consistently push your limits. Find that one thing that you offer the world that nobody else can. We all have something special and significant that we can bring to the world. The greatest thing you can do is make the decision to be yourself. Be authentic and find your voice. I am not telling you it will be easy. However, if you do not give up you will find your tribe. It’s time to stop living a limited life. You were born to be a game changer!
