As I write to you, I am coming off of another amazing week. We are getting closer to Christmas. Also, we are getting closer to the ending of another cycle. Last week I was able to work on my goals, develop new strategies and form some amazing new relationships. I am determined to finish this year strong and take advantage of every opportunity that comes my way. You can spend all your time complaining about what you did not accomplish. Or you can concentrate on making a decision to advance and make the most of the moments you have left. After all, you alone are responsible for your results. I dare you to create something extraordinary!

Have you been restricted? Are you resilient in realizing your dream? Will you dare to rise above everything that stands between you and success? Often times we talk a good game. However, I have discovered that most people are not really committed to changing their lives. Most people are in love with the idea of transformation. However, they are not committed to the process of transformation. In other words, we like the possibilities of change but we do not like the process. The reality is that we become comfortable with our limits. Therefore, we resist everything that challenges us to embrace the next level. You can choose to settle for an easy life. However, I have discovered that easy never produces excellence. Restrictions tolerated become limits. When you choose to live with limits you cripple your potential. You do not have to accept containment. Have the courage to reach for more in your life.

Resilience is a word that you have probably heard often. However, I am not sure that many people know what it means to be resilient. Resilience is having what I call a never give up mindset. It is making the decision that no obstacle will oppose you, no resistance will restrict you and no delay will derail you. Resilience is going all in on the accomplishment of your goals and the realization of your dreams. Many people call themselves resilient; however, they do not reflect resilience in their actions. Too often I watch people give up at the first sign of difficulty or discomfort. More importantly, if you are sitting back waiting for perfection to act you are not resilient. I have discovered that resilience does not wait for perfection to act. Resilience pursues even in the midst of great adversity. Nobody ever promised that the road would be easy. The road is filled with uncertainty but the resilient person remains unwavering. You have to be unshakeable if you want to live an uncommon life. Whatever has the power to shake you ultimately has the power to steal your dreams. What you are rooted in cannot be revoked.

This week I want to challenge you to stop giving your power away. So many times we give our power away to circumstances or crisis. Over the years, I have discovered that challenges come with the journey. If you are expecting to have a life without challenges, the only way that will ever happen is if you are a lifeless corpse. As long as you have breath in your body, you can rest assured that you will encounter challenges in your life. When you find yourself in a season of resistance that is when you must make the decision to rise above. In other words, when circumstances try to declare your defeat you must declare your victory. Develop the courage to soar above the storm. Rising above is learning to be anchored in the midst of adversity. Rising above is choosing to live above limitations, breaking through barriers and surmounting what seems insurmountable. You may not be able to prevent the storm but you can have peace in the midst of the storm. Understand that the conditions of your life are subject to change. In other words, you have the power to stand on everything that has tried to stifle you. Your situation is not hopeless and breakthrough is not impossible. When you change your altitude you change your authority. The higher up you go you gain clarity, confidence and a competitive advantage. Elevation always produces an edge.

In closing, I believe that this is the greatest time to be alive in history. I do not care what your circumstances are telling you. Nor do I care what the media is saying. This is a monumental moment in history. Outside voices never define the victory of an overcomer. Trials do not change the fact that you were born to triumph. You have been living in a low place long enough. It is time to elevate and get a new vantage point for your life. See yourself reaching your best ability and maximizing your best potential. You can rise above everything that has tried to rob you of a greater life. You do not have to tolerate another day without victory. It is time for you to break up with defeat and marry your destiny. It’s time for you to rise above!
