As I write to you, I am coming off of an incredible weekend. This weekend I had the pleasure of delivering an insightful message. It was life-shifting and destiny-altering for many that were in attendance. It was such an important message that I felt compelled to share some of the insights with you today. I believe that we are living in extraordinary times. It is the best of times. However, it is also the worst of times. Ultimately, I believe your perception determines the productivity of every season. It is hard to believe that we are closing out the month of October and getting ready to enter November. I’m encouraging you to stay focused, stay dedicated and execute on your goals!

Are you ready for a comeback? Have you allowed your setbacks to define you? How will you position for a comeback in your life? According to the Oxford Dictionary, a comeback is a return by a well-known person, especially an entertainer or sports player, to the activity in which they have formerly been successful. I am not saying that this definition is incorrect. However, I do believe that this definition is incomplete. A comeback is a supernatural moment where tables turn, tides shift, barriers are broken and you are empowered to triumph in the face of incredible odds. At the beginning of the year, I remember hearing in prayer that 2017 was a comeback year. I was initially excited but unclear about what that really meant. I continued to ponder and pontificate that phrase and I was able to gain more clarity. This is the year that impossibilities are eliminated, obstacles removed and ceilings shattered. 2017 has been a year where anything is possible if you can perceive it.

I’ve been talking about comebacks all year long. I have been sharing insights and strategies on how to bounce back from seemingly impossible situations and defy the odds. I do not have to look very far for examples of comeback stories. In fact, I can examine my own life because I am living proof that comebacks are real. From failure in business to overcoming limitations, I have learned how to repeatedly triumph in the face of adversity. I have discovered that you do not have to be swallowed up by challenges. Instead, you can shatter ceilings and see significant change in your life. I know that you may be saying that 2017 is over. However, you still have time to turn the tide of your life. You do not have to stay in the state that you are in. You have the power to shift the trajectory of your life. Stop settling for the bottom and start rising to the top.

Unfortunately, most people allow their setbacks to define them. In my own life, I have often allowed setbacks to define and derail me. A moment of failure does not have to create a lifetime of misery. The past does not have to become an enemy to new possibilities in your life. Too many people are bound by a moment. Therefore, they cannot create new breakthrough moments in their lives. Most people are stuck in an old season. Old seasons will never bring you into new realities. You have to be able to leave the familiar and embrace new frontiers. You cannot undo the past. However, you do have the power to create a new present. You owe it to yourself and your dreams not to allow shame, failure or disappointment to live in the now moment of your life. Whatever you allow to hold you in prison will always hijack your present moment. It is time to release everything that has stood in the way of raising the quality of your life.

In my message this weekend, I spoke at length about how to position for a comeback. I do not have the time to go into every detail of the message. However, I want to share one vital insight with you. Pain is a very real emotion that we have all experienced at one time or another. I have seen too many people that have allowed emotions to rob them of emancipation. I never want you to believe that your experiences are not valid. On the other hand, you should never allow your experiences to reduce your value. The more power you give to your experiences the greater the barrier becomes between you and evolution. Most people never experience a comeback because they get trapped in a cycle. You cannot allow your battles to make you bitter. Nor can you allow your emotions to enslave you. At some point, you have to be willing to mature and move in the direction of freedom. No season can hold a person that refuses to settle!

In closing, I believe that this is a remarkable time. You do not have to spend the rest of your life living in the shadows of your past. Today you can stand in your power and reclaim the moments of your life. I sincerely believe that it is not over until you make it to the other side. 2017 is a comeback year. It is not about how much time is left in the year. It is about the truth that you will allow to liberate you and move your life forward. Never allow your misery to rob you of momentum. Step into a new day in your life. Understand that disappointment does not determine the direction of your life. You may have been knocked down but you have not been knocked out. It’s time for a comeback!
