As I write to you, I am coming off of a very productive week. I am in the middle of a major time of transition in my life. I am making lots of changes and I am excited about the days ahead. Change is such a necessary part of our lives. However, it is often the thing that we are most afraid of. Your ability to navigate change will determine the fruitfulness of your cycles. It is the fourth quarter of the game and we must be purposeful in everything that we do. You need to execute your goals and manifest your vision. This is not the time to become mediocre or draw back in your commitments. Guard your focus and make this your strongest fourth quarter ever!
Are you wasting time? Have you maximized your moments? How will you redeem the time? Well, if we are honest we have all probably wasted some time. However, the older I get the more important I realize that time is. In fact, I often say that time waits on no man. I watch people every day that live life haphazardly. They live without a sense of urgency or purpose. Unfortunately, most people live with the idea that they have all the time in the world. I know from personal experiences that is simply not the truth. People are leaving this world every day. Sadly we are living in a time where more young people are dying than any other time in history. Young lives lost too soon. Promises never fulfilled, moments never seized and dreams never realized. You must make the most of your life. You cannot afford to waste time. You must devote your time to your vision.
While some of you will say that you are not worried about time, the reality is that you should be concerned about time. One of the most important lessons I ever learned is that time is a measurement tool. More importantly, I learned that time is how we measure our moments. I don’t know about you but I want my moments to count. I want to get to the end of my life knowing that I made the most of every opportunity that was brought my way. I cannot afford to be idle and invest my time and energy in things that do not improve the quality of my life. Every waking moment of my life has value and I choose to use my moments to fulfill my vision. Maybe you do not feel like you have a purpose. However, I want you to know that your life does have a purpose. You were not created to just exist. You have been put on this planet to make a difference in your lifetime and generation. When you find the thing that you were born for you will start living your best life. You will start maximizing your moments and manifesting more.
During my prayer time this week I kept hearing redeem the time. I’m very familiar with the phrase because it comes from one of my favorite scriptures in the bible. It sounds good but most people really do not have a clue what that means. According to the Oxford Dictionary, redeem means to compensate for the fault or bad aspects of, atone or make amends for, gain or regain possession of (something) in exchange for payment, fulfill or carry out (a pledge or payment). In other words, to redeem means to buy back something. That means that you have to buy back time. I am sure you are puzzled by that statement. Naturally speaking it would be impossible to buy back time. However, from a spiritual perspective, it is possible to buy back time. When you live your life with spiritual perspective, you are empowered to prioritize what really matters in your life. You understand that the investments you make in the eternal are far greater than the investments you make in the temporal. Life is fleeting and a lot of things we consider important are ultimately vanity. Redeeming the time is a developing a paradigm where you shift from self-preservation to becoming God inside minded. You set your mind on things above and you shift your attention off of worldly pleasures and vain pursuits.
In closing, redeeming the time is a process of maturation. Most people do not arrive at this level of growth overnight. However, if you will lean into eternity you will be amazed at how your priorities change. When I really grabbed ahold of this truth it changed my life. Some things you think you need in your life. As you mature, you realize that you can live without a lot of things. The thing that I cannot live without is God’s presence in my life. I am grateful for all my gifts and talents. However, I do not have anything that God did not give me. My gifts and talents are all for His glory. My greatest satisfaction in life comes from knowing that He is pleased with me and that I am fulfilling His purpose for my life. My moments matter and every day I choose to redeem the time!
