Well, we have officially crossed over into the fourth quarter. It is not a time to be depressed or discouraged. If you have been focused and diligent, you should be excited about the fourth quarter. I do not believe in living life by accident. No, I am all about living intentionally. When you live with intention you focus on making progress and producing results. We only have three months left in 2017. You need to approach the last phase of this year with passion, patience, and persistence. Define three major things you want to accomplish by the end of the year and dedicate yourself to them. You do not have time to waste if you want to produce a winning life. Maximize the moment!
How are you handling your moments? Are you wasting precious moments? What are you doing to make your life count? I can remember years ago being frustrated about a lack of progress in my life. As I matured, I realized that I was wasting time. When you waste time you forfeit opportunities. A lot of time we want to blame circumstances and conditions in our lives. However, the failure to properly handle moments is often the greatest enemy to success. We are living in the most distracted generation in history. We waste countless hours scrolling our phones and engaging in meaningless conversations. Then we look at our goals and we wonder why we are not accomplishing more. The reality is that we are too distracted to live our dreams. Distractions often reveal a lack of discipline and diligence in our lives. You will never live an uncommon life pursuing the unimportant. Your priorities define the productivity of your life.
On last week Las Vegas, Nevada experienced the worst mass shooting in modern United States history. I remember getting the alert of this massacre that had happened late Sunday night. The news shook me to my core and deeply disturbed me. Immediately I spent some time in prayer and reflection. While we will never understand what would drive a person to do such a thing, my heart truly goes out to all those that were killed, the victims that are still recovering and the families dealing with deep grief and loss. This was nothing short of an act of pure evil. It takes a disturbed individual to plot such a horrific event to destroy innocent lives. I encourage you to continue to keep the victims of this tragedy in your prayers in the days and months to come.
Ultimately, what happened in Las Vegas was very tragic. Lives were cut short too soon and families are now left with the pain of separation and grief. I think we are all trying to wrap our minds around this senseless tragedy. Many are calling for more regulation and the enactment of new legislation. However, as a prophetic voice, I know that it will take much more than policies and legislation to counteract the evil in our world. We need men and women of courage to rise up and speak truth to power in the world. We do not need to politicize this tragedy. Instead, we need a prophetic people to rise up with courage and refuse to be silent Our silence gives license for evil to continue to prevail. What we are dealing with in America is a spiritual issue. Policies and procedures may provide relief. However, you do not counteract evil with legislation. You counteract evil by taking your authority and shifting the spiritual climate of a nation. We spend too much time speaking about trouble and not enough time shaping the trajectory of change.
The important thing I want you to get from this tragedy is the brevity of life. We live in a generation that has no consciousness of the value of time. Nor does this generation understand the gift of life. This generation has seen so many tragedies that they have become desensitized. If you are not careful you can start to think that you are immune to the ills that plague our world. However, often moments like this remind us that tomorrow is not promised. TIme is one of the most precious commodities in the world. I do not waste time and I do not allow people to waste my time. Instead, I have used my time to serve my generation. I have given my time to giving keynotes, writing books, creating programs and systems that empower people to live greater lives. If you have never heard me before I need you to hear me right now. You have to make your life count. Stop putting off for tomorrow what you have the power to do today. Stop making excuses for why you choose to exist instead of living an exceptional life. Let today be the last day that you blame circumstances and conditions for the lack of progress in your life. The reality is that you are where you are because that is what you have chosen to settle for. At any moment, you have the power to make a big shift in your life.
In closing, I have never felt more strongly about this message than I do right now. Every single week I write to you from my life and experiences. I share with you wisdom and insights on how to live a greater life. Some people read my words and dismiss them. On the other hand, some of you read my words and act on them. We have produced a generation of inspirational junkies. Everyone is looking for the next fix of inspirational words. However, most people are inspired to inaction. They do nothing with the words that they have heard. Most people make no changes or adjustment to their lives. I am not telling you what to do or how to live your life. However, what I know from experience is that inaction will never produce an impactful life. Nobody remembers the person that never takes action on their dreams. I decided long ago that I was going to make history. Every single moment of my life counts. Every word I speak, every program I create and every book I write has significance. I realize that my life is so much bigger than me. I have to be passionate and purposeful in everything that I do. You only get one life and you must make the most of it. Make your life count!
