Living An Uncommon Life!

While I was preparing to write to you this week, I spent a lot of time pouring through all of the amazing feedback that so many of you have been giving us over the last few weeks. In fact, my blog from last week has struck a chord with so many around the world. I am thrilled to know that so many of you are taking bold action and making big changes in your life. This is a special week for me. It’s a week to reflect on the journey and celebrate the amazing gift of life. I’m talking about August 19, 2016. I’m excited to celebrate another birthday. However, I am more excited about all the amazing new possibilities that are on the horizon. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do life with you!
Do you believe you are uncommon? What does it take to live an uncommon life? How will you break away from living an uneventful life? Every birthday brings new insights. I usually spend some time reflecting on my life, journey and the lessons that I have learned along the way. From very humble beginnings God has done more with my life than I ever imagined. I was a shy and quiet child that never imagined my life could have massive impact and touch people all around the world. Fast forward to today and I am so fortunate to have a global empowerment brand that is reaching people in places I never imagined possible. This year is extra special for me. I am in the middle of promoting my new book Unbreakable: The Unbelievable True Story of Jamelle Sanders. It has been such a joy to share my story on so many amazing platforms. My story continues to resonate with people around the world and I am grateful. My life story is really about the journey to living an uncommon life. While I am grateful for all the awards and recognition that I have received over the years, I know that every victory I am experiencing in my life today is the result of making a decision to live an uncommon life. People around the world have been moved by my words, transformed by my writing and touched by my message. However, the thing that grounds me more than anything else is the fact that God continues to graciously allow me to live out my message in an uncommon way. I know what it is like to be at the bottom and have nowhere else to go. I know what it feels like to be misunderstood and even ostracized for daring to be different. More importantly, I know the pain and the price that comes with making a decision to live an uncommon life. No matter how painful or uncomfortable the journey has been the greatest decision I ever made was to live an uncommon life. According to The Oxford Dictionary uncommon means out of the ordinary; unusual; remarkably great. I define uncommon as the ability to capitalize on your uniqueness. Being uncommon is making the decision to live a life of profound meaning and intention that inspires others to pursue a higher quality of living. Uncommon living is cultivating the mindset, developing the disciplines and cooperating with the process to reach a place of mastery. You can look at a person's life and make all types of assumptions. However, you do not know the adversity or pain that a person has faced on the path to greatness. So I write to you today from another place in my life. No longer the timid, afraid and silent person. I write as a person of power, courage and an impactful voice. Every year I make a birthday wish or better yet a higher life mission. This year is no different for me. My prayer is that my life will resonate so loudly that humanity will be loosed from bondage, liberated from toxic beliefs and lifted to a life without limitations or boundaries. May the hunger for the uncommon become greater than the convenience of mediocrity.
In closing, I am so thankful for another year of life. I want to thank you for continually supporting me and believing in the message of empowerment. Thanks for encouraging me on the days that I felt like the message was not longer relevant or resonating. Most of all, thank you for being passionate ambassadors of my brand and helping us reach more people with this message. This has been an amazing journey. I am thankful for the all the adversity, failures and disappointments. If you refuse to allow the storms to break you then you will step into a season of breakthrough. I’m excited about the next chapter of my life. I have a couple of major projects in the works and you will be among the first to hear about them. This next year of life will bring greater impact around the world. This week is all about celebrating life and appreciating how far I have come. I am so thankful that I did not give up. My decision not to break continues to bless so many around the world. Never again shun your difference. Do not allow others to demean your uniqueness. Your uniqueness is a precious gift that can change the world. Right now I want you to make a decision to live an uncommon life!
