As I write to you, I have been spending a lot of time recharging this week. Last week was an extremely busy week for me with lots of commitments. To say that I was tired would be an understatement. I was exhausted and I am finally starting to get my energy back. While spending some time reflecting I knew that I wanted to speak to you this week about living your life. In a time where everyone wants to interject their opinions you must set clear boundaries in your life. Remember at the end of the day that your life is not for others to control. Your life is about you conquering. As you move forward on your journey make sure that you are living life on your own terms and not for the opinions of others. Sometimes we have too many voices speaking in our lives to walk in true victory.
Are you living your life? Or are you living a life that someone else has scripted for you? What are you going to do today to start living life on your own terms again? People often times mean well. However, there is a fine line between love and control. In fact, if you are not careful you will find yourself trying to control and manipulate how others live their lives and how they make decisions. Nothing in the world is more miserable than a life that is easily manipulated. You have to take your life back and you have to make a decision that you are going to live your own life. What does that mean? It means that you are going to live on your own terms, respecting the opinions of others but exercising your personal right to make decisions and act in a way that is congruent with your core values and beliefs. I know that I just said a mouthful but I want you to get this lesson deep down in your soul. Stop allowing people to talk you out of the possibilities of what your life can be. Stop looking to people to tell you how to live. Get still and tap into the power that resides on the inside of you. This week was an interesting week for me. I learned about a decision that someone close made without my knowledge. In that moment I could have gotten upset and emotional. However, I remained calm and reminded myself that every individual has the right to make their own choices. At the end of the day we are all living our own lives. We may not agree with every choice and decision but that is the other person’s right. Stop trying to control decisions and manipulate outcomes. Love people, tell them the truth and then let them make the choice that they feel is right for them. Get back to your place of joy and stop trying to be the jury. The only life you can live is your own.
In closing, I challenge you today to stop trying to interfere in the affairs of others. You have to lose the Messiah Complex. You cannot rescue and save everybody. We waste too much time trying to help people that don’t even want to be rescued. I’m not telling you to become nonchalant and numb. On the other hand, I am telling you to stop wasting time speaking to individuals that refuse to shift. Do not allow people to drain you that refuse to develop. This will save you years of hard ache and pain. You have to know when to offer solutions and you also have to know when to offer your silence. Right now make a decision that you are going to stop trying to be the rescuer. Resolve that you are going to live your life to the fullest!
