As you are reading this, I am recuperating from a very busy week. Last week was filled with big projects and deadlines in my business. Also, I was in the middle of preparing for a big radio interview and working on a presentation. All of this coupled with my other demands left me a bit exhausted by the end of the week. However, I love what I do and I am committed to the daily grind. Speaking of the grind I think that this is one of the major ingredients for success that we don’t talk about anymore. My brand is in the middle of a major shift. We are totally rebranding Jamelle Sanders International and it is an exciting time. However, the excitement of rebranding must be coupled with the reality that change requires work. Essentially we are shifting from a coaching company to an empowerment media company. It sounds fairly simple in theory. However, it is always a meticulous process to produce a masterpiece. We are doing something that has never been done before and that requires a high level of energy.
What does crushing it mean? Are you crushing it? How will you commit to crushing it in the third quarter? First of all, let me just say that crushing it is not my original thought. In this moment I have to stop and thank my business mentor Gary Vaynerchuk. I have learned so much from him and I got this from his book Crush It. In this timeless book, Gary talks about the importance of fulfilling work. You have to love what you do and you have to be passionate about it. Otherwise you will quickly become bored and you will stop pursuing excellence. My mentor Vaynerchuk goes into depth about how to build a powerful brand and how to leverage social media in the process. It is a phenomenal book and I encourage everyone to read it. The book is pregnant with so many points that can help anyone succeed in business and life. However, I want to talk about hustle again for a moment. Hustle is having the ability to remain devoted to a dream despite disappointment, discouragement and difficulty. I wake up every morning motivated because I know I am living out my mission. Many of you wait with anticipation to see what new content my empowerment media company will produce. Crushing it is simply destroying the mindset of mediocrity. It is the ability to constantly improve and bring your best to your work. You may not be a CEO of a company; however, you may need to rebrand your life. You need to challenge yourself to press for more and to stop settling for mediocrity. As we have crossed over into this third quarter I am challenging you to make a commitment that you will crush it. That you will become dissatisfied with the status quo and that you will possess the drive necessary to succeed. This season demands more from you!
In closing, I have so much I could say about this topic. However, it is not in how many words I can say or how inspiring I can be. The real proof of change is a commitment to move beyond where you are into new possibilities for your life. I have made a decision to crush it. That is why I hustle the way that I do. I work relentlessly and passionately because I always want to produce my very best. It is time for you to play a bigger game in your life. You have been in the place of mediocrity for long enough. It is time to pursue more for your life. Right now I want you to affirm that you are going to crush it. You are going to crush it by always being committed to quality in everything that you do. I’m excited about your future because I know that many of you are making the decision right now to live a bigger life. Keep crushing it!
